MKA: Jason Nemeth About the Artist: Amenhotep is an 18th Dynasty
Chief Lector Priest at the Temple of Amen in the city of Waset. Having
inherited the position from his father, he was trained from a very young age in
the scribal arts. As Chief Lector Priest, Amenhotep’s duties revolve primarily
around maintaining the temple’s sacred scrolls, and reciting the spells
contained within them at official state ceremonies. When not attending to his
scribe-related duties, Amenhotep sells his services to the general public,
performing various magical spells in the form of amulets, unguents, and
invocations.
Specialties: Ancient Egyptian illumination and calligraphy
in Hieratic script; also experimenting with illumination and calligraphy in
traditional western styles.
